The people who serve our church family

Mt. Moriah African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church is led by Dr. T Douglas Riley, a pastor with 47 years of ministry experience, along with elders and deacons who are committed to the vision of this congregation. We lead together, we pray before we decide, and we take the long view because the work of a church family is never quick.

Leadership

Led by Dr. T Douglas Riley and elder-guided governance

Dr. T Douglas Riley serves as Lee Pastor, guiding our congregation with more than 47 years of pastoral experience. Together with our elders, he provides spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and stewardship of our church's mission and resources. Our elder-led governance ensures accountability to our community and commitment to our shared purpose.

Leadership & service

The people building this church

Every week, deacons and volunteers show up early to welcome guests, set up for worship, run kids check-in, handle the offering, and answer calls from members facing their hardest weeks. These are the hands and hearts that make Mount Mariah AME Zion run.

Our deacons are lay servants called by the congregation to tend to practical care: meals for new parents, rides for elderly members, support for neighbors in need, and the small acts of kindness that hold a community together.

  • Greeters and hospitality teams welcoming visitors every Sunday and Wednesday
  • Benevolence deacons walking alongside members through financial hardship
  • Meals, rides, and care coordination for new parents and elderly members
  • Operations and finance volunteers keeping the church functioning
